Pedestrian in critical condition in Maryland after accident

Being a pedestrian in a busy Maryland city like Baltimore can be frightening. You must constantly be on your guard when crossing the street, walking on the side of the road or simply strolling on a sidewalk. One man had this fact solidified for him on Wednesday, August 20.

A 45-year-old man was hit and seriously injured by a careless driver. The person who allegedly did the damage not only hit the victim, he hit an unmarked police car and doubled back and crashed his silver Mercury Grand Prix at the scene of the pedestrian accident. This information is from the Baltimore Police Department.

At approximately 10:40 p.m., a pedestrian was crossing the intersection of Bentalou Street and Lafayette Avenue in Baltimore, Maryland. The driver allegedly drove into the man and then fled the scene of the accident that was at the 900 block of Bentalou Street. He then struck an unmarked police car at the 1300 block of Bentalou Street.

He returned to the scene of the accident and hit yet another vehicle, a Ford truck, and ended up hitting a light pole at the original scene that involved the pedestrian.

He got out of his car and tried to run away; however, he was caught by the local police and arrested.

The pedestrian was taken to the hospital for his injuries and is in critical condition. The officer in the unmarked police car suffered minor injuries. The driver who allegedly caused this mayhem was also taken to a local hospital for minor injuries.

If you or a loved one has been injured in a pedestrian accident, you may want to talk to a professional who can guide you through the sometimes confusing civil court system. You may be entitled to reimbursement for medical bills, loss of wage, pain and suffering and other losses.
