Truck collides with motorcycle and kills 1 in Maryland

Because of a terrible truck accident in Howard County, Maryland, a beloved member of the public school system died when his motorcycle collided with a truck. He was a guidance counselor at Glenelg High School for approximately 18 years and will be greatly missed.

In Winchester, Maryland, which is in Howard County, at the corner of Route 97 and Route 32, at 7:00 a.m., the counselor was traveling on his cycle and met a man driving a Ford F-150. The motorcycle, a 2007 Kawasaki, was traveling in the southern direction on Route 97.

The truck was turning left from a northbound lane and the 46-year-old motorcyclist hit the truck's passenger side door. News of his death was slow to be announced, because police were trying to reach his family to notify them first.

While no fault has been placed by the police as yet, there is a formal investigation moving forward. The police are unsure if there were any witnesses to this truck accident.

The motorcyclist was a mentor to some of the students at the high school he worked at. He was an advisor to the class of 2013 and coached and sponsored many sports teams, including the Allied Soccer team.

The students at the school were very upset and left messages of condolence on a social media account.

The principal at the high school sent home a letter to the teenagers and their parents that iterated his feeling of loss. The principal also said that the counselor lived his life to the fullest and was incredibly upbeat.

He also gave some tips to the parents on how to help their teens to cope. These include listening to them, encouraging them, talking through the situation with them and discussing life and death in general.

Victims of motor vehicles accidents that occurred due to no fault of their own may be able to seek compensation for a variety of claims, including pain and suffering, lost wages and emotional trauma. Family members of those who lost a loved one in such an accident may be able to seek compensation for wrongful death and other damages.
